Mark J. Tichar is a Partner with Cedar Brook Group.
Mark’s non-stop love affair with learning, his curiosity about what makes people tick, his desire to know how things work, and his belief that meaning and purpose drive financial decisions is what motivates him and excites him about working with his clients. This ‘relationship’ creates the context in which financial decisions are made, products are purchased, and the ongoing progress is discussed and evaluated.
Mark began his career as a teacher and refers to himself as a “wealth teacher and coach”. He enjoys Cedar Brook because it reminds him of the community of teachers and learners he cherished and enjoyed for more than a decade at St. Edward’s High School. Mark’s process has engaged owners of privately held family businesses, business executives, University professors, families within five years of retirement (and often in need of developing an income distribution strategy) and clients with charitable and philanthropic interests. Mark believes that his clients are the ‘curriculum that he must master’. Once his understanding of a client is complete, Mark applies his expertise to investing, insuring, accumulating, protecting, and passing on wealth to the next generation.
Prior to joining Cedar Brook, Mark served as a Financial Planner with Cleveland Financial Group from 2000 to 2005. Leading up to establishing and enjoying a financial planning business career, Mark enjoyed 11 years of teaching and administrative leadership, 3 years in corporate banking, 3 years in direct sales and 5 years developing and growing a small family business. Each experience in its own way has prepared Mark to better understand and help his clients.
Mark has been working with his financial planning clients for close to ten years.
